Benefits modelling and analysis is an iterative process that needs to be tailored to the context, the information available and the stakeholders to be engaged. Planning and organising the end-to-end process and preparing each workshop are an important part of the process itself.
In addition to producing a benefits model, this process also produces a benefit register and a risk register, which are used in the subsequent practices of benefits management.

This 2-day Benefits Modelling Workshop is designed to give participants a thorough understanding of the end-to-end process of managing benefits realisation.
This consists of the following practices:
Whereas the end-to-end process is responsibility of a Portfolio Management Office and /or Benefits Realisation Manager, the specific work of identifying and analysing benefits is usually performed by specialist business analysts or benefits analysts. This workshop is designed for them.
Being able to carry out benefits modelling and analysis completely and effectively is a key contributor to writing good business cases and planning a portfolio or programme that optimises the benefits from investing in change, whilst also identifying as many risks, assumptions and stakeholder dependencies as possible.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Participants will receive a course notebook, CSIRT action plan, and a CD containing the course materials.
Participants will receive a SEI–CERT branded Certificate of Completion.
SEI has available the CERT-Certified Computer Security Incident Handler (CSIH) certification program. The awarding of the certification is upon application to SEI and is based on a combination of demonstrable experience plus performance in the CSIH certification examination.
