ALC Response to COVID-19

A Notice to all our Customers

Business Continuity and COVID-19

All organisations and individuals have to set their own approach concerning risk management and how they ensure their business continuity.

This document outlines multiple ways we are addressing business continuity at ALC in response to COVID. The world doesn’t have to stop. Training is essential if people and organisations are to progress, and we are here to continue to provide the first-class training that you are accustomed to receive from ALC.

Our Team

ALC has taken measures to ensure the safety of our team through the implementation of several proactive steps to manage the risk of exposure and reduce the risk of transmission. We have implemented work from home arrangements to be able to support and look after our customers from anywhere!

Public Courses – Face-to-Face

ALC have resumed Face-to-Face training for select courses and locations where practical.

Virtual Instructor-Led Training

Virtual Instructor-Led Training is available for all of our courses. ALC’s Live Virtual Instructor-Led Training delivery method is the same instructor led course you would receive is a classroom – just delivered a little differently. Most people are very pleasantly surprised and some even prefer this delivery method.

ALC has a history of providing first-class face-to-face training since 1994. In mid-April 2020, following the restrictions caused by COVID-19, we ran our first Virtual Instructor-Led Training course…..CCSP. The evaluations were outstanding. Since the beginning of COVID in 2020 – ALC have successfully run over 670 courses (March, 2023) in the Live Virtual Instructor-Led Training format, including CRISC, PRINCE2, AgilePM, Scrum, CISSP, Change Management, ITIL & more.

All you need is a computer and a good internet connection. Virtual Instructor-Led Training is a well-established and proven delivery method. It is not like a webinar where you are a passive viewer. The technology is designed to allow you to be an active member of the class – to interact with other participants and with the instructor, Live!

With regards to the software, we’ve chosen Zoom as the delivery platform for our Virtual Instructor-Led Training as the features serve the trainer and training requirements best. It allows our virtual sessions to be as close to a face-to-face session as possible considering the current situation.

*We know that previously, concerns have been raised regarding Zoom and security. However, the Zoom people have acknowledged this and have worked hard to address the concerns. Zoom Version 5.0 has since been released. This features GCM encryption across the entire Zoom platform, providing increased protection for meeting data. (We have had government departments successfully gain approvals to use Zoom as a result of this security upgrade).

We are satisfied that the current version of Zoom represents an excellent choice for our virtual training – it provides arguably the best user experience and now incorporates standard good practice security.

Private Training - the training you need in an environment that you control

Private/In-house training is a popular option. If you are concerned about attending a public course, but are not so keen on Virtual Instructor-Led Training, then as long as you can pull together a group in a venue that satisfy the social distancing requirements, you can have the training your organisation needs in an environment that you control yourself.
