Andrew Townley

Leading world authority on the integration of SABSA and TOGAF

The fundamental goal of enterprise architecture is the enablement of business by providing a lasting foundation for business execution. However, you can’t enable business if you don’t understand that business is about taking manageable risks to seize opportunities. To do this successfully, you need a systematic, reliable and robust way to integrate risk and opportunity management into your architecture.

In this unique 2-day course, you will learn how to successfully combine proven concepts and techniques from the SABSA® framework for creating enterprise security architectures with the latest features of TOGAF® to enable business by creating secure enterprise architectures designed to manage risk and capture opportunities.

Through a combination of classroom lecture and practical, hands-on exercises, course participants will gain an appreciation and understanding of how to augment TOGAF with SABSA artifacts and techniques—not only to create security architectures, but also to create stronger and more aligned overall enterprise architectures.

Foundation Level Certification

The purpose of the Foundation certification is to measure whether you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the Change Management Text and Handbook to act as an informed member of a change management team during a period of change within part or all of your organisation. The Foundation certification is also a pre-requisite for the Practitioner certification.

Exam Format – Foundation

Practitioner Level Certification

The purpose of the Practitioner certification is to confirm whether you have achieved sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor Change Management guidance in a given organisational change situation. A successful Practitioner should, with suitable direction be able to start applying the Change Management approaches and techniques to a real change initiative but may not be sufficiently skilled to do this appropriately for all situations. Your individual Change Management expertise, complexity of the change initiative and the support provided for the use of Change Management approaches in your work environment will all be factors that impact what the Practitioner can achieve.

Exam Format – Practitioner

FAQ

Change Management –  APMG/CMI vs PROSCI

One of the most frequent questions we get concerns the differences between PROCSI and APMG/CMI certifications.

ALC’s Change Management training comes from APMG and CMI (the Change Management Institute) which are both based in UK. PROSCI is US-based. The two approaches are not really competitors. Rather, they are complementary. They approach the same subject but from a different perspective. In an ideal world people would do both. A similar situation exists with Business Analysis between IIBA in USA and BCS in UK.

ALC recommends the APMG/CMI approach as a more suitable and effective starting point from an organisational perspective, particularly if you have a group of people to be trained.

For a comprehensive assessment of the two approaches we recommend this paper: Change management certification courses from APMG and Prosci®. Which one is right for you?
