Rod is a programme director and privacy consultant with over 25 years’ experience implementing critical programs and projects at some of the world’s largest organisations. Rod has delivered programs and projects of all sizes, from only a few staff and a budget of just a few thousand dollars, all the way up to 200 contributors and a budget of $50 million.
Rod is passionate about privacy and security and works with a number of clients specialising in Data Privacy and Data Security, dealing with the strict new Data Privacy and Protection regulations such as GDPR and NDB and with Data Privacy and Protection as a service.
His experience is practical, on the ground, delivered from a Privacy/IT/Project/Implementor perspective. He leads a team of privacy and security professionals with over 60 years combined experience in the field. Rod has headed a number of Privacy Programme implementations, each of which has been enterprise/whole of business (as privacy most often is). His clients include one of Australia’s top 6 universities, a financial software house with a global client base and an educational software house with an extensive Australian private and public client base. Rod also acts as a Project Director for the Australian arm of one of the world’s top 25 software companies.
Other projects include:
- Completed insource of 19 front line IT security services for one of Australia’s largest bank
- Built the Primary Data Centre for another Australian bank, migrating all services to the new DC once established
- Ran the trading floor for the London International Financial Futures Exchange
- Head of IT for the 3rd largest UK Charity.
Rod’s formal qualifications include Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe (CIPP/E), Certified ISO27001 Lead Implementer and PRINCE2 Practitioner. Rod also holds a Bachelor in Business (Marketing) and BA in Arts (Economics and Politics), both from Monash University.
